A Project I am working on at the moment (currently Proof of Concept)
The Hub - An online server that allows the player to portal/transition to another server - with the option of using Vaultster as defined by the server host.
The latest addition of this Server is that it has the current Master Server game server list integrated into it.
When a player enters, they can talk to the GateKeeper, who will display a list of servers, they can then browse, and select the server they want.
It will even check the online status of that remote server (from in game).
Much of the functionality is done in C# interfaced to nwn via nwnx.
The next features to be worked on is the travel rules/customs check system.
Essentially - server hosts can specify special rulesets that will define what a legitamit character is for their server.
Eg - Only accept Vaultster characters of level 20 and below.\
- No Abilities higher than X
- No Skills higher than X
- No Immortal/Invulnerable characters
- Name Restrictions etc
The idea behind all of this, is so peoples favorite characters can travel from server 1 to the Hub, and then onwards to Server 2 - and Server 1 and 2 will have a level of assurance that The Hub will legitamize the traveller.
Eg - if they want to enter a server with a level restriction of 20 - then they will have the option of delevelling to 20 to get in.
Similarly - Items in inventory can and will be screened.
Server hosts would be able to
specify max item worth allowed.
specify item properties to disallow etc
Anyhow - if anyones interested in having a look, or helping with the project.
